Justin Martin and Bryce Sweeting, two mainstays on defense of the Buffalo Bandits’ National Lacrosse League playoff runner-up team, have been re-signed, the team announced Tuesday. Each signed two-year contracts, subject to league approval.
Martin, 24, will enter his fourth season with the team. For a second consecutive season, he played in all 18 regular season games. He scored one goal and recovered 33 loose balls. He also played in all four of the Bandits’ playoff games with one assist. The Oakville, Ont., native played at the University of Guelph before he was selected by Buffalo in the second round of the 2016 NLL Entry Draft.
It will be Sweeting’s second season with the Bandits. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound defender had one goal and three assists in 15 games last season. He had a goal and an assist in four preseason games. Before coming to the Bandits in a trade before the 2018-19 season, he played four seasons in Colorado.
