The Bandits' Steve Dietrich has been named the National Lacrosse League's General Manager of the Year in a vote of executives from around the league.
Dietrich, who also won the award in 2016, oversaw the rebuilding of the Bandits team that went from last place in 2017-18 to the NLL Finals this past season. The Bandits went from 8-10 to a league-best 14-4 and set franchise records for wins and road wins (seven) in a season.
The Bandits were aggressive in the makeover, signing free agent goaltender Matt Vinc and adding Corey Small, Chris Cloutier, Ethan O’Connor and Bryce Sweeting in trades.
An NLL Hall of Famer as a goaltender, Dietrich was hired as the Bandits' GM in 2012 after spending the previous two seasons as Toronto Rock assistant coach.
