Parolee pleads guilty to possessing gun

A Buffalo man pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree possession of a weapon, a violent felony, before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said 33-year-old Jaquon Snell had a loaded pistol hidden under a mattress that parole officers found during a routine search of Snell's Durham Avenue residence on Sept. 11, 2018.

As a two-time violent felony offender, Snell faces a maximum 15 years in prison when he is sentenced Aug. 15.
