A Buffalo firefighter was taken away in a stretcher from a house fire at 50 Frankfort Ave. Thursday afternoon, marking at least the third time since Wednesday evening firefighters required medical treatment.
Two firefighters battling a blaze at 42 Johnson St. were transported to Erie County Medical Center around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. One of the firefighters suffered a fall on a flight of steps at the 2 1/2-story wood-frame home and was treated at the hospital and later released.
The other firefighter, who showed signs of heat exhaustion and dehydration, was kept overnight at ECMC for observation, a fire official said.
The condition of the firefighter from the Frankfort Avenue fire was unavailable.
