A man and woman from West Seneca were traveling together in two cars, one following the other, when both were pulled over and both arrested on drug charges, according to the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office.
Austin T. Horn, 20, was charged on July 4 with unlawful possession of marijuana, driving while ability impaired by drugs, DWAI combination of drugs and alcohol and following too closely. Jessica L. Marini, 20, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and uninspected motor vehicle.
Horn was pulled over on State Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon for following a vehicle in front of him too closely; Marini was pulled over for an expired inspection certificate, deputies said. Marini was driving behind Horn and deputies learned that they were traveling together.
Deputies said both Horn and Marini were each found to be in possession of marijuana in their separate vehicles. Horn failed roadside field sobriety testing and was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, where he tested positive for alcohol on a breath test and was determined by a drug recognition expert to be under the combined influence of alcohol and cannabis.
Both Horn and Marini were released and scheduled to appear in the Town of Sheldon Court on July 29 to answer the charges.
