The iconic Hotel Lenhart is located across the street from Bemus Bay in Bemus Point, and its large veranda and colorful rocking chairs offer an ideal vantage point to watch the sun set over Chautauqua Lake, perhaps while sipping a "Lenhart Rocker," the hotel's signature cocktail. The Lenhart has been owned and operated by the same family since it was built in 1880, although the original hotel was destroyed by fire in 1891. The Lenhart added electricity and plumbing in 1930 and is open only in the summer.
