A Chautauqua County man allegedly operating an all-terrain vehicle without a helmet while riding on a public highway Wednesday was charged with DWI, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said they stopped 63-year-old Walter F. Price, of Ellington, at about 4:15 p.m. while Price was riding on Mill Street.
After determining that he was allegedly intoxicated, Price was taken into custody and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated and operating an ATV without a helmet.
Price also was charged with operating an unregistered and uninsured ATV.
He was released with tickets for the charges and set to appear in Ellington Town Court at a later date, the Sheriff's Office said.
