Colpoys-Barrow Cup baseball awards dinner Wednesday

Who is the top scholastic-aged baseball player in the area?

An organization headed by local baseball aficionado Tom Prince aims to provide an answer tonight during an awards banquet at Ilio DiPaolo’s Restaurant.

Fifteen student-athletes are vying for the right to be the first winner of the Colpoys-Barrows Cup – which will be award to the Player of the Year in Western New York as determined by a committee chaired by Prince.

The honorees are Sean Hayes (Bishop Timon-St. Jude), Jack Putney (Clarence), Joe Pagano (Depew), Brian Norsen (Frontier), Nick Partsch (Iroquois), Bryce Jackson (Jamestown), Dom Schmidt (Ken West), Nate Lockwood (Lake Shore), Trevor Luthart (Medina), Charlie Bruning (Roy-Hart), Sam Murphy (St. Joe’s), Will Carlone (St. Joe’s), Chris Neino (St. Mary’s), Chase Chowdowski (West Seneca West) and Andrew Fairbrother (Williamsville North).

The dinner begins at 6 p.m.
