Massinburg action is limited so far in NBA Summer League

While his University at Buffalo teammate Nick Perkins has had a chance to impress with the Los Angeles Lakers team in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, CJ Massinburg has seen very limited action.

Massinburg played only nine minutes and was scoreless for the Brooklyn Nets in an 88-85 win over the Washington Wizards on Monday.

The shooting guard from UB has scored five points in 27 minutes of total action for the Nets in the two games he's played in Las Vegas.

Perkins, meanwhile, is averaging 19 minutes a game and 11.5 points in two games in Las Vegas. He's collected four rebounds and made 8 of 21 shots.

The Lakers faced the Golden State Warriors team late Monday in a game that ended too late for this edition.

On Saturday, Perkins scored 13 points and took down nine rebounds in 19 minutes for the Lakers in 93-87 loss to the L.A. Clippers.

Former St. Bonaventure star Jaylen Adams scored 11 points in 31 minutes Sunday for the Atlanta Hawks team in a 90-66 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Adams made only 3 of 12 field goal tries, 0 for 6 from 3-point range, but had five points at the free-throw line. Adam did not play in Atlanta's 89-83 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.

Isaiah Reese (Canisius) had two points in six minutes for the Houston Rockets in an 113-81 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.

The biggest news out of the summer league was the New Orleans Pelicans' decision to shut down prize rookie Zion Williamson for the remaining Summer League games after the No. 1 draft pick suffered an bruised knee in in a knee-to-knee collision in the first half of a 80-74 win over the New York Knicks on Friday.
