Having attended the July 3rd Bison game, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra concert and fireworks for the last 12 years with my family, I feel it necessary to speak out.
The concert is always great, lots of patriotic songs that give meaning to our Independence Day. The veteran tribute is always moving, recognizing the five branches of our armed services and those who served in them. The one element of patriotism that is missing, is the lack of an American flag of substance. The tiny flag out in left-center field is nearly invisible.
Surely Sahlen Field could do better. For a view of what an American flag should look like at a beautiful sports venue – check out Gander Outdoors! That is an outstanding presentation of how our symbol of freedom and patriotism should be displayed.
