TMP Technologies plans to move its manufacturing operations from Buffalo to the former Bethlehem Steel site in Lackawanna, a step toward a business revival in the sprawling waterfront complex.
TMP, a maker of cleaning products, has signed a letter of intent to buy about 28 acres owned by the Buffalo and Erie County Industrial Land Development Corp., for about $1.1 million.
TMP plans to move into a planned 280,000-square-foot new facility on the property. The company says its has grown to the point where it has run out of manufacturing space on Dingens Street.
TMP expects to retain about 100 jobs, and add about 30 jobs over the next few years, once the new plant is built, according to county officials.
The ILDC board is expected to vote on the property sale later this summer or in early fall.
