Fashion Friday: Meet Katherine Kolber, marketing director

Name: Katherine Kolber, 24.

Who she is: Marketing director of Buffalo Dental Group. She graduated from Holy Angels Academy and St. Lawrence University, where she majored in business and psychology. The middle child of five, she grew up in Clarence and enjoys hiking and skiing.

What she's wearing: Paige brand jeans she bought at TJ Maxx; linen T-shirt from Brooks Brothers; Dolce Vita platform espadrilles; braided belt from J.Crew she bought in high school; jean jacket from Urban Outfitters; Michael Kors earrings from TJ Maxx; Class of 2012 ring from Holy Angels.

Signature pieces: Earrings and fun shoes in summer. Coats and boots in winter. "I'm such a sucker for my coats and boots. I'm obsessed with my SOREL Joan of Arctic boots and Barbour jacket," she said.

Fashion statement: "I would describe my style as classic American. I love to buy and find classic, versatile pieces. Usually I wear a simple outfit and dress it up with an accessory – usually earrings or a bright pop of color somewhere.

"It's funny because I'd often find pieces in my parents' closet that I loved to wear. People in college would ask where I got something and would laugh when I said it was my mom's sweater. I'm happy she kept a lot of her old clothes because I've raided her closet many times," she said.

Recent purchase: A simple, long-sleeved blue-and-white striped linen romper from Blum's in Williamsville. "It's another great piece because actually I think it's meant to be a beach cover-up, but I've dressed it down with Rainbow sandals or dressed it up with wedges and earrings."

In the market for: A broken-in flannel  shirt– "I like to say 'well-loved' " – likely from a thrift store.
