LAS VEGAS – Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin was a unanimous choice on the annual NHL All-Rookie Team, announced late Wednesday night in conjunction with the NHL Awards Show.
All three Calder Trophy finalists were unanimous picks by the Professional Hockey Writers Association, as Dahlin was joined by Vancouver center Elias Pettersson and St. Louis goalie Jordan Binnington on the All-Rookie squad. Pettersson won the Calder and Binnington, who led St. Louis to the Stanley Cup, was second. Dahlin was third in the Calder voting.

Dahlin was joined on the All-Rookie defense by Dallas' Miro Heiskanen. The forwards named to join Pettersson were Ottawa's Brady Tkachuk and Tampa Bay's Anthony Cirelli.
According to the Sabres, Dahlin is just the third blue-liner ever to make the team in his age-18 season (age as of Jan. 1). He's the Sabres’ first All-Rookie Team honoree since Jack Eichel in 2016 and the first Buffalo defenseman to make the team since Calder winner Tyler Myers in 2010.
