The Iowa football program announced Tuesday that former University at Buffalo wide receiver Charlie Jones will join the Hawkeyes as a transfer.
UB coach Lance Leipold confirmed after the spring game in April that Jones was no longer with the program, and that Jones did not practice with the Bulls during the spring.
Jones had 395 yards and three touchdowns on 18 catches in 14 games as a redshirt freshman in 2018. He also averaged 19.3 yards as a kick returner for the Bulls, with 15 returns for 289 yards.
Jones, who is from Deerfield, Ill., will join the Hawkeyes as a redshirt sophomore.
