A man on parole for a 2011 manslaughter conviction involving the death of his 2-year-old daughter has pleaded guilty in federal court to possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors said 34-year-old Randy Colucci, of Niagara Falls, faces a maximum of 20 years in prison when he is sentenced.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Lamarque, who is handling the case, in April 2017 an undercover Homeland Security Investigations special agent discovered multiple files containing videos and images of child pornography being shared on a peer-to-peer website. Some of the video and images depicted prepubescent children in sexual situations.
Investigators determined the IP address connected to the files was one used by Colucci, which led to the execution of a search warrant at his residence.
In June 2017, digital media containing child pornography, including violent sexual assaults, was recovered from Colucci, prosecutors said.
