Firefighters extinguish tractor-trailer fire at Tops Market loading dock

Grand Island firefighters Sunday were called to the scene of a vehicle fire that started in the engine compartment of a tractor-trailer that had pulled up to the rear loading dock of a Tops Market on Grand Island Boulevard.

Firefighters used hand extinguishers to put out the fire before it spread into the store, according to Grand Island Fire Company Deputy Fire Chief Mark Sadkowski.

The cause of the fire was determined to have been an electrical malfunction.

The estimated damage was $10,000.
