Power equipment stolen in Newfane burglary

A pair of Honda generators were among the items stolen recently in the burglary of a garage on Maple Avenue in Newfane, Niagara County sheriff's deputies said.

Someone cut a padlock off the garage door to gain entry sometime between May 25 and 30, deputies said. In addition to the generators, a gas-powered post hole digger was taken, along with a citizen's band radio, two commercial post jacks and a commercial tire groover. The value of the missing items was not reported.

Deputies said that bolt cutters, apparently used to cut the lock off the garage door, were left behind by the burglar, and are being analyzed for evidence.
