The owner of the Northtown Plaza has adjusted its redevelopment plans after acquiring another building on the property.
Massachusetts-based WS Development bought the former KeyBank branch within the shopping center in April 2018. The bank branch at 3051 Sheridan Drive was in a low-slung retail building along the plaza's western side.
The Amherst Planning Board last year approved a plan to reuse the Northtown Plaza site that did not include the KeyBank building.
Incorporating that property into its plans, WS Development told the town that Building B – one of six new retail buildings it plans to construct on the site – will grow from 27,000 to 37,000 square feet and the overall size of the project will expand from 187,500 to 203,000 square feet.
The town Planning Board will hold a hearing on the amended site plan on June 20.
WS Development opened a Whole Foods Market in the first phase of its plaza redevelopment but has yet to begin demolition and construction for its planned second phase.
