Fashion Friday: Meet Ryan Dils in his tech-savvy casual style

Name: Ryan Dils, 20.

Who he is: University at Buffalo student majoring in computer science; Western New York Prosperity Fellow at UB (the fellowship program is supported by the Prentice Family Foundation to assist students from UB and Canisius College "who are actively preparing for careers that further economic development and growth in the Western New York area"); software engineering intern at ACV Auctions (the Buffalo-based startup company; its app lets car dealers buy and sell used cars online). The Hamburg native graduated from Hamburg High School in 2017.

What he's wearing: Bird-print soft shirt from American Eagle that he bought two years ago to wear to a concert at Darien Lake ("I wanted a new shirt that was more outgoing than my other shirts and I saw this in the window"); white jeans from Old Navy ("I was getting sick of khakis and blue jeans"); black shoes that belong to his brother, Tyler ("I wear them when I need to wear something besides running shoes"); watch.

Signature piece: Collared shirts. "I wear a lot of polo shirts. They are comfortable and professional," he said.

Fashion statement: "There are a lot of people in the world. You're not going to be able to talk to all of them so clothes are one of the ways you can stand out and make yourself  bolder and more known to people.

"My style is business-casual, preppy, athletic-oriented. I've been told I look like a tennis player which is funny because I play tennis in my leisure time," he said.

Last thing he bought: A white polo from Banana Republic.

In the market for: A swimsuit that hits above the knees.
