Two charged with felony DWI in separate incidents in Niagara County

Two people with previous drunken driving convictions were charged with felony DWI recently in separate incidents, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office reported.

Ashley D. Olds, 35, of Dickersonville Road, Ransomville, was pulled over on Cain Road in the Town of Porter at 3:02 a.m. on May 26, according to reports. Deputies said they had spotted her vehicle being driven on the shoulder of the road, and said that her male passenger was slumped over drunk. Deputies said that Olds refused to submit to field sobriety tests or a Breathalyzer. Due to a pair of prior DWI convictions,  she was charged with a felony count.

Deputies said that a North Tonawanda man refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test following his May 27 arrest on Cambria-Wilson Road in the Town of Cambria, reportedly attributing his decision to the fact that he had a previous DWI conviction in 2010. Mathew T. Ward, 28, of Mead Street, was charged with felony DWI and an equipment violation.
