Staffing and recruitment firm Aleron Group has completed its move from a suburban Amherst office park to 500 Pearl St.
Aleron – formerly Superior Group – occupies 8,000 square feet on the eighth floor of the building, which also includes Aloft Buffalo Downtown hotel and 12 apartments.
The staffing company, which outgrew its previous headquarters on International Drive, brought 30 employees to the new space.
Aleron's Acara Solutions Inc., a recruiting services company, will also lease office space on the ground floor of 500 Pearl, starting in September.
Scott Stenclik, Aleron's CEO, said the company wanted to be in downtown Buffalo to be "part of its renaissance."
Besides Acara, the company includes Broadleaf Results, Lume Strategies, TalentRISE and Viaduct, with clients in industries that include advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defense, engineering, information technology, finance and professional services.
Ellicott Development completed the $75 million construction of 500 Pearl this year on the site of a former parking lot and the Buffalo Christian Center. The building's hotel and banquet areas are finished, the apartments are fully leased and one floor of office space is leased, with another 28,000 square feet still available, said Ellicott CEO William Paladino. He said officials are talking with two potential restaurant operators for the two storefronts along Franklin Street. The bar will open in June, while the bowling alley will debut in August, he added.
