Maid of the Mist will open its 2019 season at 9 a.m. today, with boats departing every 15 minutes for close-up views of the base of Niagara Falls.
“As one of North America’s longest running tourist attractions, we are looking forward to once again welcoming guests from around the world,” said Christopher M. Glynn, president of Maid of the Mist Corp.
Maid of the Mist ferries began carrying tourists on sightseeing adventures in 1848. Service was suspended from 1861 until June 13, 1885. The boats have powered through the Niagara River below the falls for 134 consecutive seasons since then.
