Another clean cancer scan.
That was the good news Jill Kelly shared Thursday via her Instagram account about her husband, Jim Kelly.
The post included a photo of the former Buffalo Bills quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer walking on a sidewalk, while pointing skyward.
"Thank YOU SO MUCH for praying and standing with us as we continue this journey...one day at a time, one prayer at a time," she wrote. "It all sounds cliche, but it’s true."

Praising God on the streets of NYC! Another “clean” scan!!! Thank YOU SO MUCH for praying and standing with us as we continue this journey...one day at a time, one prayer at a time. It all sounds cliche, but it’s true. All we have is this moment and what is right in front of us. It’s so easy to get caught up in the “what if’s” of tomorrow and totally ignore the gift of RIGHT NOW. I was worried about the outcome of the scans. What if...? And the Lord reminded me of the fact that no matter what the outcome, no matter what the scan results showed, God is still GOOD, REGARDLESS...because He is God! And His plans are perfect! He doesn’t make mistakes! This kind of trust doesn’t happen overnight! It’s a letting go and letting God one moment at a time. It’s learning to understand and accept how little I can control, but how perfectly in control God is. And although it’s dreadfully hard sometimes, I would not want it any other way. I’m praying for you! Proverbs 3:5-6
Kelly's ongoing battle with cancer and other health issues have been regularly chronicled by his family.
In January, he told The Buffalo News that the choice to be so public about his health wasn't his, but rather what Jill and his daughters prefer. Kelly added it that it stemmed from their devout faith.
"You won't believe how many times I told my wife, 'No, do not put that out there. No, don't do that. No, Erin, don't do that,'" Kelly told The News. "Because I don't want everybody knowing my business and I’ve always been that way. But I do understand now, by being a Christian, how important it is to have people praying for you and how important it is when I travel to hear people tell me that they are praying for me. I mean, I’m not talking a couple of people. I'm talking thousands. I mean, I go through the airport and people come up to me and say, 'Jim, we’re praying for you.' "
