Steve Tasker's days at CBS Sports are over

Steve Tasker’s 21-year run with CBS Sports is over.

The former Buffalo Bills great confirmed he no longer will be working for the network that primarily carries American Football Conference games.

It wasn't Tasker’s call. The handwriting was on the wall last year when his CBS job was changed from a game analyst to sideline reporter on a team with Kevin Harlan and Rich Gannon. It was one of several changes in his role over the last few seasons.

"They didn't renew my contract," Tasker said in a brief telephone interview. "I left on really good terms. My time had just come to an end. They were great. Twenty-one years was a good run."

Tasker said there is a chance he will work radio games for Westwood One if they didn't conflict with his job alongside John Murphy on the daily program “One Bills Live,” which is simulcast on WGR radio and cable’s MSG.

Tasker retired from the Bills in 1997 and joined CBS in 1998 as an analyst.
