Buffalo man arraigned on murder charge

A Buffalo man has been arraigned on a second-degree murder charge that alleges he shot 44-year-old Carlos Perez-Torres to death May 15 on Grimes Street on the city's East Side.

Ruben Marchese, 54, was ordered held in jail without bail by Buffalo City Court Judge Kevin J. Keane, Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn said.

If convicted on the murder charge, Marchese faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ashley M. Morgan of the DA’s Homicide Bureau.
