Elma's Blue Lantern Lounge is up for sale

Celebrated Elma nightspot Blue Lantern Lounge has officially been put up for sale.

Listed at $699,750, the restaurant at 6120 Seneca St. is being offered as a turnkey operation.

The deal includes the thoroughly remodeled circa-1870 building on about an acre of land, its furniture and equipment, recipes, customer mailing list, and everything an operator need to run a thriving business - except for decades of experience, which owners Tom and Donna Pease have in spades after opening in 2006. The Peases even opened a second restaurant down the street last year, the Rt. 16 Chicken Shack.

“Everything is always for sale, right?,” said Donna Pease, also a real estate agent for Howard Hanna.

She is 62 and would like to retire at 66, she said.

“Between running this, a real estate business, and the second restaurant, the Blue is in a good place. I think it’s time for us to step away and let someone who’s maybe a little younger take it to the next level,” she said. "To be blunt, I’m tired.”
