NCCC board to reinterview presidential candidates

The Niagara County Community College Board of Trustees will reinterview two of the three candidates for the college presidency Thursday.

A college insider, who asked not to be identified because the process is confidential, said Stephen W. Dunnivant and Darrin Q. Rankin will be reinterviewed via videoconference during a closed-door meeting called for 5 p.m. Thursday.

Dunnivant is dean of business, industry and technology at Tallahassee Community College in Tallahassee, Fla., while Rankin is vice president of student success and chief student affairs officer at Lone Star College System in Kingwood, Texas.

Lori V. Quigley, vice president for academic affairs at Medaille College, was the third finalist. One college source said she was eliminated during a closed board meeting Tuesday, while another source said all three are still in the running.

Any candidate who can win support from six of the 10 trustees will be forwarded to the State University of New York Board of Trustees for ratification next month.
