BRIGGS - Robert J. "Bob"
May 11, 2019, at the age of 93 in Williamsville, NY, died peacefully of natural causes. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Clawson) Briggs; dearest father of James (Joann), Elizabeth (Glenn) Crooks, Margaret M. Briggs-Brooks and John (Nancy); loving grandfather of nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John Alexander Briggs and his mother, Anna Marie Hafner. After graduating from Burgard High School, Bob served in the US Navy during World War II as a First Class Petty Officer on the USS White Plains. Afterwards he attended the University of Buffalo to take engineering courses. For 38 years he worked at the R.P. Adams Co. rising to the level of Quality Assurance Manager and he finished his career as Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at the West Valley Nuclear Services at age 67. Bob was active in several professional organizations such as ASNT and ASQ and maintained a great interest in the hobbies of photography, bridge and music. The family will be present on Friday from 4-8 PM at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5200 Sheridan Dr. (corner Hopkins Rd.). Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 9 AM in St. Gregory the Great Church, 200 St. Gregory Ct. (at Maple Rd.), Williamsville. Please assemble at church.
