Deputies: Man pointing gun charged with menacing, driving drunk on ATV

A Coldspring man was arrested on several charges after he was accused of pointing a shotgun at an individual and operating an all-terrain vehicle while intoxicated , according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office.

Joshua W. John, 38, was arrested Friday evening after deputies responded to a report of a man pointing a shotgun and striking an individual on South Loop Road.

Deputies said further investigation revealed that John was operating an ATV while intoxicated.

John was charged with second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felony driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of 0.18%  or higher and a no helmet violation.

John was arraigned at the Town of New Albion Court, and held without bail based on two prior felony convictions. He was taken to Cattaraugus County Jail awaiting further proceedings.
