For those who seek to be prepared when their dog or cat faces a medical emergency, the SPCA Serving Erie County will offer its second Pet First Aid Class of 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m. May 28 at its 300 Harlem Road, West Seneca, location.
The class will cover how to identify the symptoms of serious emergencies that require immediate treatment.
Instructors will lead those attending the classes in hands-on cardiopulmonary resuscitation with a CPR mannequin resuscitation dog – named Spot – as well as demonstrations on how to bandage a wound and offer a comprehensive lecture on recognizing and appropriately handling life-threatening pet emergencies.
Included in the $10 registration fee is a take-home booklet for reference, and contact information for emergency veterinarians.
Registration is required. To register, visit https://yourspca.org/petfirstaidclass/.
