A Sardinia motorist was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, according to State Police.
Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Machias said 61-year-old Gordon J. Wiedemann was allegedly exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication when he was stopped Friday on Savage Road in the town.
Wiedemann failed standardized field sobriety tests conducted at the scene of the traffic stop, troopers said. A subsequent chemical Breathalyzer test revealed Wiedemann allegedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.11 percent.
Wiedemann was issued appearance tickets to return later this month to Sardinia Town Court.
