A Lockport man faces multiple criminal charges after recklessly driving a stolen car — in the parking lot of the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
Sincere E. Wiley, 27, was observed driving a green 2002 GMC Envoy “in a reckless manner” shortly after 3 p.m. on Saturday, and failed to stop when a deputy signaled him to do so. Instead, deputies reported, Wiley led them on an extended chase through Cambria, Wilson and Lockport at speeds exceeding 90 mph.
In the process, Wiley almost hit a marked sheriff’s vehicle head-on, said deputies, who later learned the Envoy was stolen in the City of Lockport.
Wiley was charged with reckless endangerment, trespassing, and criminal possession of a stolen vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office reported. He is being held in the Niagara County Jail without bail pending a Monday court appearance.
