J. Fitzgerald Group, a Lockport advertising agency, has participated in the advertising industry's annual CreateAthon 11 times before, but this year the agency intends to limit the potential clients to organizations serving underprivileged children.
Two not-for-profit organizations will be selected for the 24-hour blitz that creates free advertising and marketing materials for selected clients, set for July 18-19. J. Fitzgerald Group said it is the only Western New York ad agency involved with CreateAthon, founded by a South Carolina agency in 1998.
June 3 is the application deadline via the ad agency's website.
"This year, we really wanted to change our focus and commit to causes that are important to us," said Jack Martin, president and co-owner of JFG. “Dedicating this year’s CreateAthon to providing creative marketing and advertising to specifically help children’s organizations helps narrow our focus and allows us to create a more comprehensive campaign of materials and media for each of the two selected groups to help them achieve their goals.”
