The Care Connection Lactation and Wellness Center will host its third annual Diaper Drive to help families who can use a lift when it comes to their young kids.
One in three caregivers experience diaper needs for their children, according to the National Diaper Bank Network, and because they are considered a hygiene item, diapers aren’t covered through government programs.
Access to clean diapers can prevent rashes and infections that can harm a baby’s wellness and boost family health costs.
The Diaper Drive aims to change that. The Care Connection will accept donations of disposable diapers from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 3991 Harlem Road, Amherst. Newborn to size 6 are welcome, including open packages. All donations will benefit Every Bottom Covered (everybottomcovered.org), a regional diaper bank.
Raziya Hill, founder and executive director of Every Bottom Covered, said nearly 17,000 diapers were collected during last year’s drive, helping supply more than 850 children in greater Buffalo.
This year’s event also will include a car seat inspection. For more information, call 725-6370 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
