Ronni Kordruple (Iroquois) and Nisa Raqib (Hutch-Tech) combined for three individual titles and earn 30 of Buffalo State's points for a fifth place finish in the SUNYAC Championships on Saturday at Brockport.
Kordrupel won the 1,500-meters with a school-record time of 4:40.29, and won the 800 in 2:17.58.
Raqib won the triple jump with the second-longest mark this season in Division III at 12.10 meters (39 feet and 8.378 inches).
Benjamin Fairweather was second in the 400 meters (49.35) and Collin Snyder (JFK) was second in the high jump (6-2.18) for the Buffalo State men in the conference meet. The Bengals finished fifth.
Cotton pitches Niagara softball to victory
Karsen Cotton (Depew) pitched a six-hitter with eight strikeouts in a 1-0 Niagara victory as the Purple Eagles split a softball doubleheader with Marist on Sunday. Marist won the second game, 11-1.
Niagara won eight of its last Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games to finish the league season at 11-9 and earn the fifth seed in the conference tournament which begins on Wednesday in Poughkeepsie.
