Barbara A. Druzbik, who started as a receptionist with Towne Automotive Group and worked her way up to assistant finance manager, died Thursday at Hospice in Cheektowaga. She was 78.
Born Barbara Kolenko in Lackawanna, she was a 1959 graduate of Lackawanna Senior High School. After getting married in 1960, she worked for a few years as a customer service representative with Twin Fair Corp.
She returned to the work force in 1991 as a receptionist with Towne Automotive Group.
She quickly was promoted to a post in after-market sales and took Dale Carnegie Professional Training Courses to improve her skills further. She retired in 2017.
Mrs. Druzbik was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Bistrica Catholic Church, where she sang in the church choir for more than 50 years and served as president of the parish's Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Alexander M.; and three sons, Alexander J., Gregory and Christopher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Bistrica Catholic Church, 1619 Abbott Road, Lackawanna, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
