Buffalo man who sold crack cocaine sentenced to 70 months

A Buffalo man was sentenced Friday in federal court to serve 70 months in prison following his conviction on charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 28 grams or more of crack cocaine, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said 41-year-old Derrick Washington conspired with others between January and February of 2018 to sell crack. On four separate occasions during that time, Washington sold the drug to an individual who was working with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Federal investigators executed a search warrant on Feb. 14, 2018, at Washington's Niagara Street residence, where they seized suspected crack cocaine, two digital scales and a rifle.
