Cheektowaga Police charged a Depew man on Saturday with robbing the Citizens Bank at the Tops Friendly Markets at Thruway Plaza last week.
Thomas Blachowski, 49, of Penora Street, is accused of passing a teller a note stating that he had a gun and demanding money, police said. The robber did not show a weapon. Officers obtained information about the suspect's identity after posting on social media an image of the robber taken by security cameras. Blachowski was apprehended at 6:36 p.m. Saturday at a Goethe Street address, police said.
He was charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree grand larceny, both felonies.
