Watch: Lou Michel, Dan Herbeck on Oklahoma City bombing, Timothy McVeigh

Twenty-four years ago on April 19, 1995, 168 people died and at least 500 were injured with a truck bombing outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Buffalo News reporters Lou Michel and Dan Herbeck covered the Oklahoma bombing and its Western New York connection, later co-authoring the book "American Terrorist: Timothy McVeigh and the Oklahoma City Bombing."

Michel and Herbeck talked about where they were during the Oklahoma City bombing, how interviewing Timothy McVeigh defined their journalism careers, what McVeigh might have thought about social media and the rise of white nationalism and more.
