Taco shop clerk victimized by fast-talking con man

A man described as a "short-change artist" conned a clerk out of $150 recently at the Colosso Taco restaurant on Packard Road, Town of Niagara Police reported.

The man entered the store and tried to purchase a bottle of water with a $50 bill, police said. After confusing the clerk, police said that he twice reached over the counter and took money while the clerk was trying to figure out what the man was requesting.

The restaurant owner posted a photo of the man on Facebook and a Cheektowaga police detective tentatively identified him as a suspect in similar incidents in the past, according to police reports. He is being sought for questioning.
