Pair arrested after report of marijuana brownies being made near children

Two men from Fillmore were arrested Monday for endangering the welfare of a child following a report of marijuana brownies being made in the presence of children, according to the New York State Police.

Troopers out of the Amity State Police station arrested Brent A. Makowski, 25, and Jacob W. Pomeroy, 23, for endangering the welfare of a child. Makowski was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Troopers said that when they investigated a report of people making marijuana brownies in the presence of children at a residence on West Main Street in the hamlet of Fillmore, they observed a dinner plate of marijuana within several feet of two children.

Makowski and Pomeroy were arrested and transported to the Fillmore State Police station and released with appearance tickets for Hume Town Court later this month.
