Locally shot suspense-thriller ‘Photographs’ to premiere at Aurora Theatre

It is only fitting for “Photographs,” a suspense-thriller shot in Western New York, co-written and co-directed by noted local filmmaker Hernan Caraballo, and starring a local cast, to premiere at a venerable local venue like the Aurora Theatre. It screens at noon April 20 at the theater located at 673 Main St., East Aurora.

Caraballo collaborated with writer-director Sammi Shearing, and he also co-stars in this story of a woman who begins to suspect her abusive ex-boyfriend may be a murderer. After Danielle (played by Erika Frase) ends her relationship with Ethan (played by Eric Witkowski), she discovers photos that appear to depict a mutilated female body. Soon, Danielle begins to fear for her own life.

Shot entirely in the area, the film's cast also includes Christopher Burns, Jr., Claudia Rochon and Dean Puleo. Caraballo’s other work includes 2014 horror feature “Mostly Dead” and a number of shorts. He has also acted in films like Gregory Lamberson’s “Killer Rack.”

A question-and-answer sessions will follow the screening. Tickets are $11 and available starting at 11 a.m. at the venue the day of the screening.
