Lewiston police will pick up unwanted medication from disabled, elderly

Disabled or elderly Lewiston residents who can't drive can have town police pick up unwanted medications from their home under a new program.

The department will offer pickups, by appointment, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 15th of each month. Appointments must be made a week prior to the pickup date, the department said in a Facebook post.

Those interested should call the department at 754-8477. Officers cannot accept liquids or needles.

The department also offers a drop-off container at the police station, 4059 Creek Road, in front of Lewiston-Porter schools.
