'Roses' program to honor 29 women Saturday

"The Power of Women" will be celebrated during the 10th anniversary of the Roses for Outstanding Women awards program at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Central Library Auditorium in downtown Buffalo.

The keynote speaker will be Assembly Majority Leader Crystal D. Peoples-Stokes, D-Buffalo.

The program will honor 29 Western New York women for their achievements in a variety of fields, including law, business, arts, health, education, religion and community involvement. Each woman will receive a red rose and certificates of achievement from city, state and county officials. The program was founded by columnist and retired teacher Eva M. Doyle.
