Letter: News outlets should not host the president’s supporters

If you want to hear the fanatical ravings of the right wing on your radio or television you should need to turn your dial to radio entertainers like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Tom Bauerle and their ilk or to Fox News.

But anyone looking for the truth should not be forced to endure the same old Donald Trump propaganda from the mouths of his stable of apologists – in and out of Congress – when we tune in to network news, PBS or any of the small handful of others who haven’t drunk the Trump Kool-Aid.

Thoughtful people should not have to wade through the bloviations of Trump’s congressional shills, like Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell and most of the rest of the Party of Trump. The legitimate media news sources should not provide such people a platform. Let Fox News fawn all over them. For their own selfish political ends those people still refuse to stand up to this wannabe dictator, and have thereby sold their souls.

Legitimate news outlets should know by now that Trump supporters are only looking for confirmation of the dogma they have already swallowed, and not the factual news or opinion based on fact. PBS and network news stations should take the advice of the Bill Murray character in the movie “Scrooged” and “scrape ‘em off.” Legitimate news sources already have lost the extreme right wing; so why do they subject the rest of us to the deceit and treachery of Trump mouthpieces. Kellyanne Conway, Sarah Huckabee, Stephen Miller and the rest have no business on the real news.

If a sizeable portion of our voters have not realized by now that they need to vote for sanity and decency over chaos and soullessness, then they are to blame for our nation finally passing the point of no return.
