RESCHEDULED – Wednesday is the new date for Erie County Health Department’s first free rabies vaccination clinic of 2019. Shots for cats, dogs and ferrets will be provided from 3 to 7 p.m. in the North Buffalo Community Center, 203 Sanders Road off Colvin Avenue. Pets should be on a leash or in a carrier. Owners should bring vaccination records. Originally planned for Jan. 30, it was postponed by the blizzard-like storm. For more info, call 961-6800.

Also postponed by the Jan. 30 storm was a presentation by historian Jolene Hawkins on life and legacy of John P. Meyers, who returned from the Civil War to become a leading citizen of Springville. The free program now will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Lucy Bensley Center, 23 N. Buffalo St., Springville.

TRANSFORMATIONAL – A demonstration of how to turn beloved old T-shirts into a keepsake quilt will be focus of the next meeting of the Buffalo/Niagara Chapter of the American Sewing Guild at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 205 Longmeadow Road, Eggertsville. TAKING WING – Historian Doug DeCroix, executive editor for Western New York Heritage magazine, is guest speaker at the next meeting of the Historical Association of Lewiston at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Lutheran Church of the Messiah Fellowship Hall, 915 Oneida St., Lewiston.
His topic will be the first woman to fly solo in an aircraft, “Blanche Stuart Scott – Untamable Tomboy of the Sky.” Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

CHURCH NOTES – World Day of Prayer 2019 for the churches of Orchard Park, Hamburg and West Seneca will be observed at 1 p.m. Friday in Orchard Park United Methodist Church, 3700 N. Buffalo St., Orchard Park. The service will focus on the story of Creation. All are welcome.
