North Tonawanda driver with prior conviction charged again with DWI

A North Tonawanda woman with a prior driving while intoxicated conviction was charged Tuesday morning with DWI, according to City of Tonawanda police.

Courtney S. Jakubec of Webster Street was pulled over on Main Street at about 3:30 a.m. for driving 65 mph in a 30 mph zone, police said.

Jakubec, 27, failed field sobriety tests and had a suspended driver's license for failing to pay fines related to a 2016 DWI conviction in Newfane, according to police.

Police reported finding marijuana and pills in her vehicle and said she refused a breath test. In addition to DWI, Jakubec also was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, along with four traffic charges, police said.
