Monday's boys basketball slate changes due to closings

With a good number of schools closed today due to weather/aftereffects of the extreme windy weather (power outages, etc.) that blew through the area, the Section VI boys basketball semifinal schedule has been revised.

Per Section VI chairman Larry Jones, tonight's Niagara Falls versus Orchard Park boys basketball Class AA semifinal is still on as scheduled at 7:45 p.m. However, the Williamsville North versus Lockport semifinal slated to open the twin bill has been rescheduled for 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at Buffalo State Sports Arena.

In order to create the opening at Buffalo State for that Class AA semifinal, Tuesday's B-2 semifinal between Southern Tier schools Allegany-Limestone and Southwestern has been moved to Fredonia State. Game time is now 7 p.m.

School closings usually mean all extracurricular activities also are cancelled for that day unless the activity/sport receives the OK for participation from the district's respective superintendent.

Monday's Class C-1 semifinal between top-seed Middle Early College and No. 5 Chautauqua Lake has been moved to 5:30 pm. Tuesday at Fredonia State. The second game of Monday's triple header at Jamestown CC, featuring No. 3 Tapestry versus No. 2 East has been moved to 6 p.m at Buffalo State. The Class D game between Panama and Clymer is on at 7 p.m. tonight at JCC.

So, a doubleheader at Buffalo State is still on the docket for tonight, while Jamestown CC's triple header is now just one game.
