Korn, Alice in Chains team up for Darien Lake date

The 1990s hard-rock heavyweights Korn and Alice in Chains' co-headlining summer tour will hit town at 6:30 p.m. Aug 2 in the Darien Lake Amphitheatre (9993 Alleghany Road, Darien Center).

Nu-metal pioneer Korn is in the midst of recording material that will eventually make up the group's 13th release. Its most recent effort "The Serenity of Suffering" dropped in 2016.

As for Alice in Chains, the Seattle band continues to find success since the passing of lead singer Layne Staley in 2002. Last August, the outfit, now with Williams DuVall handling singing duties, shared its well-received new record "Rainer Fog."

Alternative hip-hop act Ho99o9 and metalcore group Underoath will open the show.

Advance tickets are $29.50 to $125 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. March 1 through LiveNation.com, Ticketmaster.com or charge by phone at 800-745-3000.
