Hilbert will play host Messiah College in Grantham, Pa., at 7 p.m. on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Division III women’s basketball championship.
Pairings and venues for the 64-team tournament were announced Monday.
Baldwin-Wallace and RIT will meet at 5 p.m. in the first game of Friday’s doubleheader at Messiah’s Hitchcock Arena in Eastern Pennsylvania.
Messiah has won 26 games in a row since its opening loss to York (Pa.) College. The Falcons won their third straight Mid-Atlantic Conference Commonwealth title, defeating Lycoming in the championship game of the playoffs after going 16-0 in the regular season. It will be Messiah’s 19th NCAA tournament appearance.
Hilbert (22-5) gained the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference automatic bid by defeating Penn State Behrend, 64-54, in the championship game of the conference tournament on Sunday in Pittsburgh. The Hawks had tied La Roche College for the AMCC regular-season championship.
It will be the second straight trip to the NCAA Division III tournament for the Hawks under coach Amy Senefelder.
